The Pitztal valley is criss-crossed by a small river where you can make wonderful observations of Merlo acquaiolo, Ballerina gialla, Rondine montana and Piro piro piccolo. All year round you can see species around the valley like Gipeto flying over the valley and Nocciolaia, Picchio cenerino, Aquila reale and Picchio nero. On top the Pitztaler Glacier you can find species like Sordone, Fringuello alpino, Gracchio alpino and Pernice bianca.

The Pitztal is located 70 km southwest of Innsbruck. You can explore the vally by car and the slopes of the forest on foot. In the towns you can park and then watch birds. From the town of Mittelberg you can take the train which goes through the mountain on top of the Pitztal Glacier. From there you can explore the area on foot. Or you can take the lift up to a restaurant.
