Oberlaa Kurpark in Vienna spans over 60 hectares and was originally created for the Vienna International Garden Show in 1974. The terrain is mostly flat with gentle slopes and divided into themed areas. The many old trees and ponds attract a diversity of birds. Birds you can observe include Anatra mandarina, Fischione, Gallinella d'acqua, Sparviere, Gufo comune, Picchio rosso maggiore, Picchio rosso mezzano, Picchio verde, Codibugnolo and Picchio muratore.

Oberlaa Kurpark in Vienna is located in the Favoriten district, on the southeastern slope of the Laaer Berg. Take Vienna’s U1 subway line and get off at Oberlaa station (marked 1 on the map). From there, it’s just a short walk to the park entrance near Therme Wien, the city’s famous thermal spa. If you’re driving, you can head toward Kurbadstraße or Laaer-Berg-Straße, where you’ll find parking areas nearby. The park is well signposted and accessible from major roads in Vienna. Kurpark Oberlaa is free to enter. Opening hours vary by season. May to August: 6:00 to 22:00. April and September: 6:00 to 21:00. March and October: 6:00 to 20:00. February: 6:00 to 19:00. November to January: 6:00 to 18:00.
It is best to explore the park on foot. There are many paths to choose from. The 4 km circular walking route shown on the map is just a suggestion.
