Descrizione
Only 15 km from Innsbruck, the Inzinger Gaisau is one of the last floodplains in the Inn Valley. It has ponds, woodlands, agricultural fields, wet meadows, reedbeds and borders the shores of the river Inn. This makes Inzinger Gaisau rich in habitats and therefore rich in birds.
Birds you can see here are Cesena, Luì grosso, Smergo maggiore, Martin pescatore, Piro piro culbianco, Canapino maggiore Capinera, Picchio rosso minore and both Rampichino alpestre and Rampichino comune and many species of tits. In winter sometimes you can encounter large flocks of Cardellino, Lucherino, and in late winter Peppola.
On the northern waters edge you have a good view on meadows and reedbeds. You can find Stiaccino here and with some luck Nibbio bruno. On the pond you can see Tuffetto and different kinds of ducks. Around the reedbeds check for Porciglione, Migliarino di palude, Cannaiola, Cannareccione and Forapaglie comune.
