Descrizione
Over 240 bird species have been found at the Güssinger Fischteiche, making it one of the best places in southern Burgenland for birdwatching. The site is also easily accessible from the town and can be incorporated with a visit to the well-known castle nearby. Highlights include breeding Moriglione and Svasso maggiore, a heron colony with Airone cenerino and Airone bianco maggiore and summer migrants including Tarabusino and Salciaiola. In spring the site attracts waders such as Cavaliere d'Italia as well as passage birds such as Gabbianello and Mignattino comune. The site also has some woodland, which contains Picchio nero, Frosone, Picchio cenerino, and there is a chance of Aquila di mare.

Accesso
You can park in the main town car parks and walk across the road. Click on the P in the map for directions. The circular route indicated on the map is about 6 km. The paths in between the fishponds themselves are private, but birdwatchers are tolerated and local walkers often use these too. These paths offer the best views of the ponds.
