This walk is a 'go-to' location for Scrubtit and is also good for a number of other rainforest birds such as Bassian Thrush and Pink Robin.

This 1.8 km loop takes around 45 minutes to complete, meandering through a cool forest of towering ferns and mossy rocks, and a tranquil waterfall. Starting from either Fern Tree township or the well-equipped Fern Glade car park, be prepared for potential snowfalls and slippery tracks, and don't forget your warm, waterproof gear. From Hobart take Huon Road to Fern Glade (at Mount Wellington foothills) and park at the small formal parking area on the right hand side of the road, immediately before the village. Press P on the map to access Google mapping.

"Fern Glade Circuit is a 1.8km, grade 3 hike in Fern Tree, Tasmania, and typically takes around 45 minutes to complete. This short loop walk is a great option on a hot summer's day, offering a shady forest with towering tree ferns, moss-covered rocks, and a small waterfall. Following the Fern Glade track upstream, you'll be surrounded by lush green vegetation and the soothing sound of running water.
You can start the walk from the Fern Tree township or the Fern Glade car park, which offers more parking spaces. Accessible by bus or car, the suburb of Fern Tree in Hobart serves as a convenient starting point. Be aware that snowfalls can occur in Wellington Park at any time of the year, and the track can become slippery when covered in snow and ice. It is advisable to bring warm, waterproof clothing to ensure a comfortable hike".
