Descrizione
The name of Gouraya National Park is derived from the 660 metres high Gouraya Mountain. The mountain, cliffs, forest and beaches give the park a rich biodiversity. Gouraya National Park is a good area for conservation with barbary macaques, jackals and wildcats on land, sperm whale, dolphins and porpoise, Sula, Berta minore atlantica, Uccello delle tempeste and Gabbiano corso offshore. Birds may also include Assiolo, Gufo reale, Capovaccaio, Biancone, Grandule, Tortora selvatica, Piviere tortolino, Gallina prataiola, Lodolaio, Quaglia, Falco pecchiaiolo, Succiacapre, Succiacapre collorosso, Occhiocotto, Bigia grossa, Canapino comune, Calandra, Calandrella, Cappellaccia, Passera sarda, Passera lagia, Passero solitario, Strillozzo, Zigolo nero and Zigolo muciatto.

City of Bejaia has an airport and train station and is 2 and a 1/2 hours east of Algiers. The N24 coast road passes through the park. Most other roads are narrow, steep and winding. Summer temperatures can reach 47° and are best avoided. Travel here in early spring or late autumn for best results.
