Wooded hill of 350 metres with former iron age hillfort, under Forestry Commission management.
Wapley Hill has a full range of woodland birds, including Krossnefur, Barrfinka, Fjallafinka, Laufmeisa, Votmeisa, Skottmeisa, Barrmeisa, Dómpápi, Birkifinka, Grágrípur and warblers. There are polecats too.
Wapley is four miles south east of Presteigne. Take B4355 Kington road, then turn left to Stansbatch. Go left again at Stansbatch and car park is one mile ahead on the left. There is a picnic area here also. The circular walk indicated on the map is about 4 km long.
