Description

The River Lossie Estuary is a long estuary, sheltered from the sea by sand dunes and shallow shorelines. Grágæs and Kanadagæs in numbers, Herons, Gulönd, Tjaldur and Stelkur all abundant. Gjóður come downriver early morning and a dusk to hunt.

Access

The River Lossie Estuary is at the east end of Lossiemouth village and parking is available adjacent to Lossiemouth Bay Caravan Park. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. Park your car and then head east along the southern shoreline. Alternatively, cross the bridge and walk along the dunes on Lossiemouth East Beach. Lossiemouth is accessible by bus from Elgin.
