Description
Forest Farm Country Park and the Glamorganshire Canal Local Nature Reserve is the place for best birding in Cardiff. Ancient beech and oak trees, wildlife including otters, canal heritage, a long distance trail & the River Taff along with a superb path network and excellent public transport links to help you enjoy it. Excellent photo opportunities for Bláþyrill. Easy access with car parking and 3 birdhides (1 out of use as of Jan 2020 due to arson).
It is also one of the rare British nest sites of Sefþvari. Other nice birds you can see here are Gulönd, Straumerla, Fossbúi, Dómpápi and Hrossagaukur.

Access
Car parking on Longwood drive to north of reserve, small car park with roadside parking Whitchurch end, car park at Forest Farm Warden's centre. Train station at Radyr (a short walk away) - take Radyr, Treherbert, Aderdare or Merthyr Tydfil train from Cardif Central.
The circular walk as displayes on the map is about 2,5 km.
