Two mile stretch of the River Avon with rough grassland, reedbeds and lagoons.
In spring and summer the area is alive with Sefsöngvari, Síkjasöngvari, Engisöngvari, Gaukur, Gulerla, Bjarthegri and fallow deer. There are excellent views of Bredon Hill and the Malvern Hills.
Eckington Bridge with its car park and information board is three miles south of Pershore on the B4080 road to Tewkesbury. For a 3/4 mile circular walk cross the bridge and turn right to follow the river upstream to Birlingham. Keep right and a rutted track (can be puddles) leads to Nafford Lock and the Gwen Finch reserve. Here the elevated bird hide is open only to local birding society members. Cross over the lock to return to Eckington.
