College and Argal Reservoirs are on the West edge of the town of Penryn, which is on the Northern edge of the town of Falmouth.
These close reservoirs are on the Western outskirts of the town of Penryn, they run in a North East/South West line. Stithians Reservoir (see separate entry on this website) is reasonably close to the North West and some interchange of birds can occur, as usual following hot prolonged summers when water levels drop, muddy edges can be good for autumn migrant waders and on occasions Neartic species. Of the two, College Reservoir has a more heavily wooded surround, a car park (fee payable) is situated between the two.
Going South on the A39 pass the A394 turning, come off at next roundabout taking third exit signed Mabe Burnthouse, in village take first turning left into Church Road, continue on and take a sweeping bend left into Penwarne Road. This road goes between the reservoirs with a car park on the right.
Due to being close to urban area these reservoirs can get busy, a weekday or early morning visit is best, also note these are FISHING lakes.
