Description

Styran is located just outside Ösmo and consists of Västra Styran, which is a lake, Östra Styran, which is a wetland area, open fields, and deciduous forest. In the southern part of the wetland area there is a bird watching tower. These species can be found, among other birds:​​ Vepja, Grágæs, Akurgæs, Heiðagæs, Blesgæs, Gjóður, Haförn, Brúnheiðir, Bókfinka, Grænfinka, Kjarnbítur, Grænspæta, Gultittlingur, Síkjasöngvari and Sefsöngvari.

Access

You can reach the bird observation tower by turning off at the riding school just after Ösmo (road 225) if you are coming from Stockholm. There is a parking space 400 meters from the tower. Click on the P in the map for directions.

Extra info

Dvergsvanur and Fagurgæs sometimes join the large gatherings of mainly geese. Mostly seen in other places nearby, Elrisöngvari has been seen two years in a row so far.
