Skillingaryds Dämme was built as a water treatment plant. Measures taken in recent years have resulted in a new wetland and wet meadows. The new environment with shallow ponds and bushes attracts birds like Keldusvín, Sefhæna, Maríuerla, Vatnalóa, Bakkasvala, Bláþyrill, Lindastelkur and Hvinönd.
