Description
The area arround Börringe is well known for being a hotspot to watch raptors. It is especially interesting during autumn migration when the birds are passing by, but now and then rare eagles spend the winter in the general area.
Park along the road and climb the steep hill. From the top you will have a good view of the area. Breeding birds are Svölugleða, Vatnagleða, Haförn and Músvákur. From August the migration starts, with September as its peak. During this period big numbers of Býþjór and Músvákur can be seen migrating. More rare but regular is Fölheiðir and Gnýörn but also rarities such as Gjallörn, Snákerna and Gammörn and even once Kuflgammur has been seen over the years.
