Beautiful coastal meadows along the east coast of Blekinge.
In autumn and winter the Olsäng area gives a beautiful walk and a good chance of migrants and wintering birds. If the wind is right ( from the east) migrating birds over the sea come close to shore. The area contains of the sea, shoreline, meadows and some small copses. Olsäng is known for beeing best for birding in the autumn and in the winter but might have potential even in the spring if the wind is right.
Birds that can be seen are Æðarfugl, Hávella, Korpönd, Hrafnsönd, Glitbrúsi, Lómur, Margæs, and other geese. If one is lucky Æðarkóngur, Himbrimi and Svalbrúsi. On the meadows and surrounding marshes Hrossagaukur, Dvergsnípa, Sönglævirki and Snjótittlingur. The area is also good for watching both harbour seal and grey seal.
Drive E22 and take off E at Törnåkra, follow the road down to the coastal road and turn left. At the farm store turn right (there are plenty of small roads, follow the main one to Bond Gården) Its ok to drive over the court but please do respect that it is a farm and a private property. Follow the dirt road down to the sea. The circular walking route on the map is about 3 km long.
