Description
The Lillfjärden lake is primarily known for its geese. Helsingi, Grágæs, and Kanadagæs all breed. The lake also holds the entire swedish non-breeding population of Fjallgæs. Other geese like Blesgæs, Akurgæs, Heiðagæs can often be found. Some years Akurgæs (serrirostris) and Margæs are also found during migration periods.
The lakes rocky coast is also often home to waders like Sótstelkur, Stelkur, Vatnalóa (breeds), Tjaldur (breeds), and Rúkragi. The lake holds large amounts of Stokkönd and smaller amounts of other dabbling ducks. Even species which are rare in northern areas like Gargönd, Skeiðönd and Taumönd. Smaller amounts of diving ducks can often be found. Wintering Silkitoppa and Krókfinka are often found. Although the numbers vary widely.

Access
The lake lies directly north to the center of Hudiksvall. There are many places to park the car. Click on the P in the map to get directions. You can make a circular walk around the lake (2,5 km).
