Description
The Långfjället Nature Reserve is one of Sweden’s largest. The highest peak is Storvätteshogna, at 1204 m. It has areas of pure primeval forest without traces of forestry. On the moutain plateau it is lovely walking with plenty of birds on top and in dales. Lots of Rjúpa, Þúfutittlingur, Heiðlóa and Steindepill. You also find Váskaði (in the coniferous forest) and Lyngstelkur (around small bog areas in the forest). And along the streams and rivers the Fossbúi is a common sight. In the lakes and streams you can find ducks like Urtönd, Hvinönd and Glitbrúsi.You can also encounter moose, foxes, martens and brown bears.
