Description
Puerto de Piedrasluengas is a mountain pass at an altitude of 1,355 m and located on a lush beech forest. From this place there is an impressive panoramic view of the Picos de Europa and part of the Palentina Mountain. The surroundings are formed by meadows and deciduous forest and surrounded by high peaks. Here we can find a wide representation of the forest birds of the Cantabrian Mountains, such as Svartspæta, Laufmeisa or Skógfeti, birds of open environments such as Gultittlingur and Þúfutittlingur, As well as some raptors such as Gæsagammur, Skarngammur and Gullörn.

A 1355 m de altitud y situado sobre un frondoso hayedo, desde este lugar se tiene una impresionante panorámica de los Picos de Europa y parte de la Montaña Palentina. From the Piedrasluengas viewpoint, you can go down a track that goes into the upper part of the beech forest (it is highly recommended to do this walk to observe the forest species). From this point you can also make the ascent of Peña Labra (2,028 m), with a rich community of alpine birds.
