Description
From the picturesque Puerto de Carril, you can see the nearby Isla de Cortegada. Birds like Þaraþerna and seagulls often rest on the wooden stakes from the dock. It is not uncommon to see Svartbakur and Sílamáfur. The most frequent are Klapparmáfur and Hettumáfur. You can also see Rita and Lónamáfur. Also Súla. The frequency of Toppskarfur and Alcidae like Langvía, Álka or shearwaters makes the place a special place. The terrestrial birdlife is much less interesting, although it does add species to the watch list.

The best time is sunrise. I have always gone in summer, and even so, warm clothes are recommended for that time. A jacket is enough.
