Description
La Tancada is one of the most remarkable lagoons in the Ebro Delta. 250 hectares of land with a rich fauna and vegetation. It is the lagoon with the highest density of Rauðflæmingi in the entire Delta. Many species of ducks, gulls and waders. Also in the surrounding ricefields many birds can be seen. Among the birds you can see are Bláhæna, Relluhegri, Bognefur, Sandþerna, Bleikmáfur, Kóralmáfur, Ránþerna, Kólfönd, Topplævirki and Stúflævirki. But many more, see the birdlist below.

You get there by car. I camped in l'éucaliptus. The delta is flat. In one lake saw about 10 Bláhæna. The Relluhegri was not to be missed. At the border of the sea I spotted Stúflævirki. There are 3 main viewpoints in the lagoon, but the birding is good on many other spots. A circular route around the lagoon in 10 km. Best option is by bike.
