Description
In the east of the dry province of Almería lies the beautiful unspoilt Natural Park Cabo de Gato. It covers 29,000 hectares and was protected as a nature park in 1987. You will find erratic steep coasts, sand dunes, salt flats and huge cliffs of volcanic rock. In the area around San Felipe castle various plants grow on the rocky soil that attract interesting birds like Lúðurfinka, Urðardepill, Topplævirki and Þúfutittlingur. You will find Urðardepill usually on the castle, Lúðurfinka wander all around the area.
