Description

Bajo Negro is located near several biotopes. The first one is the sea. At sea here you will find Klapparmáfur and rarely Sílamáfur. If you are lucky, also Súla or Urðaskrofa. Another setting is the beach. You can easily see Sanderla. If you continue further, you will reach the dunes. In the desert area inland the Þyrnihæna is found, Stúflævirki and Hrauntittlingur.

During a visit or two in November 2021 I saw Tríll, Steppusvarri, Glámsöngvari in the desert area and on the beach Flatnefur, Lappajaðrakan, Strandlóa, Grálóa as well as other mentioned species. The north end of Corralejo is worth exploring too. Lúðurfinka quite common here.

Hello Dave, congratulations on a beautiful observation. I have seen some of the species you mentioned, such as Lappajaðrakan or Flatnefur in Corralejo. But I didn't come across Tríll here at all. However, I was only here for 10 days in February 2022 and I know I didn't see a lot of species (like the Auðnadoðra that was reported here). Someone even saw a Súla here. Thank you for your response. Michal.
