Yakhroma Floodplain is actually interesting during migration time for observing waders and shorebirds and different species of geese. The main attraction in summer is the breeding Bjúgstelkur, this is the only confirmed place where this bird breeds every year. Mýrerla breeds in the near-by meadows.
