Description
Because of its position on one of the most important migration routes, the Via Pontica, the Lake Techirghiol area has a big diversity of species. More than 200 species of birds have been recorded, wich represents at least 60% of the species present in Romania.
On the lake, the winter of 2022-2023 sheltered a family of Rauðflæmingi. Other interesting species to be seen: Brandugla, Grastíta, Sandlóa, Roðakani, Brúnheiðir, Dvergskarfur, Bjúgnefja, Fjöruspói, Brandönd and more.

Access
To reach Lake Techirghiol there are multiple ways. The most convenient are two routes: from Techirghiol village or through Eforie Sud. The area is accessible by car, but a bike ride is proper also. Too long distance for a walk. The circular route around the lake is 20 km. Click on a P in the map for directions.
