Description
The Romeiras area is a regular site for the presence of iconic large birds of prey, such as Skassörn, Gullörn, and Haukörn, as well as Gæsagammur and Kuflgammur. It is also common to observe some species typically associated with steppe areas, like Dvergdoðra, Sandspjátra, Kliðfálki, Bláhrani, and also Jörfadepill and Kamblævirki. With a constant water presence, it regularly attracts various species of waterfowl, as well as species like Þernutrítill and Sandþerna during the breeding season.

Access
The Romeiras site is located near the villages of Alvares, Penilhos and Romeiras. You can reach the area either via the municipal road CM1145, which leads to Alvares, or the municipal road EM509, which provides access to Penilhos and Romeiras. The circular route indicated on the map is about 15 km.
