Description
The Barroca D'Alva habitat consists of reed and tabua vegetation, which provides shelter and food for several bird species. The Barroca Marsh is known for its rich birdlife, including waterfowl typical of reedbeds. It is an excellent place to observe waterfowl and reed birds such as Keldusvín and Sefsöngvari. In winter, large flocks of waterfowl can be seen.

Access
Barroca D'Alva is located about 4 km south of Alcochete. From Lisbon, access is via the Vasco da Gama Bridge, then follow the IC3 towards Alcochete and exit at the sign "N119 – Alcochete"; upon reaching the first roundabout, take national road 118 towards Pegões. About 3 km further on (near km 7), another roundabout appears, which should be driven around at a 270-degree angle, following the signs for "Barroca." This is where the road that leads to the Barroca Marsh begins.

Português: cerca de 4 km a sul de Alcochete. A partir de Lisboa o acesso é feito pela Ponte Vasco da Gama, seguindo depois pelo IC3 em direcção a Alcochete e saindo quando surgir a indicação “N119 – Alcochete”; ao chegar à primeira rotunda toma-se a estrada nacional 118 na direcção de Pegões. Cerca de 3 km mais adiante (junto ao km 7) surge uma outra rotunda, que deve ser contornada a 270 graus, seguindo as indicações para “Barroca”. Começa aqui a estrada que dá acesso ao paul da Barroca.
