Rather unknown reservoir that is rich in birds. Good for birds of prey, waterbirds, larks and during migration always a chance on surprises.
The Divor reservoir and its surroundings are great for bird watching. Much of the area is underexplored. The main observation point on the north side is the dam, which allows observing the waters of the reservoir. But as this dam is quite busy with sportsmen and fishermen, the disturbance can be high, so the number of birds present is not always high. So it is also good to explore the other side of the reservoir. On the lake and around the margins you can see ducks, grebes, Rauðflæmingi, herons and waders lake Lindastelkur and Lyngstelkur.
In the surrounding areas many birds can be seen. For example Álmtittlingur, Korntittlingur, Dílagaukur, Býsvelgur, Herfugl, Steppusvarri, Kamblævirki, Topplævirki, Sönglævirki, Hálmsöngvari, Skopsöngvari and Hjálmsöngvari. Also many birds of prey can be seen flying over the area. In summer you have a good chance on Vatnagleða, Skálmörn and Gæsagammur. In winter Bláheiðir, Svölugleða and Völsungur. All year round you can see Músvákur, Brúnheiðir and Turnfálki. Gráheiðir can bee seen mostly in August.
The area is located 20 km north of Évora. You can access the area by the network of municipal roads connecting Évora to Arraiolos and Vimieiro. On foot you can access also the small paths that run along the banks of the reservoir and explore the more quiet parts.
North of the small village of Igrejinha there is a small pond where you can often observe Háleggur (See the map).
