Flooded meadows with plenty of spring shorebirds. Hotspot for Tígulþerna.
Zajki Meadows is a very good spot for observing marsh species. All 3 marsh tern species ( Kolþerna, Tígulþerna and Skeggþerna) are present. Some warblers in nearby bushes. There is also a couple of pairs of Jaðrakan around as well as plenty of Rúkragi and Flóastelkur on the meadows in the spring. Various trushes and nightingales can be heard later in the day.
Access is restricted to the road. The meadows are in the National Park, further down there is also a trail you can take and possibly even hear some Heiðasnípa.
