Szachty

Wielkopolska (Greater Poland)  >  Poland

Old post-excavation clay reservoirs that are now a bird refuge in the city. The name "Szachty" comes from German ( Schacht) and means - shaft.

Description

There are about 40 reservoirs on the site and a 25-meter metal lookout tower with an excellent view of the reservoirs ( here were 6 brick factories in the past).

There are walking paths between the water reservoirs. For more experienced hikers, it is possible to venture into the thickets of bushes or reeds - in this case, I recommend high waterproof shoes (watch out for wild boars).

The place can be reached by car, public transport, bicycle. Most of the footpaths within the property are also accessible by bicycle and wheelchair access. I have only drawn an illustrative observation path on the map. There are many more possible combinations and variants.
