There is a colony of Hettumáfur here, where Sílaþerna, Stargoði, Sefgoði, Skutulönd and Gargönd also nest. In this area, you can also find rarer species, such as Jarpönd and Kólfönd. With a bit of luck, there is a good chance of meeting Rindilþvari and Skeggþerna. From the second half of April to mid-May and in July, you can come across a mass migration of thousands of individuals of Dvergmáfur. Deep in Lake Dąbie, during migration and in winter, it is easy to see flocks of thousands of Skúfönd. You can observe the birds from land - from the bicycle path running along the embankment along the lake. It is forbidden to sail onto islands with bird colonies.

The best way to visit the area is to drive to Lubczyna and park your car near the beach. You can also get there by water (Marina Lubczyna). From there, walk or cycle along the cycle path that runs along the embankment towards the northern part of the lake. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot.
