Description
Łazienki Park is spacious and full of life. Best to visit in the morning when people are not there yet. Note that it's open from 6 am. Two pairs of Náttugla can be heard at night. If you ask a local birder they will be happy to show you where they spend their day. Mandarínönd, Gulönd and Stokkönd nest in the park. A pair of Hrafn breed here every year as well.
The park is known for the many woodpecker species that can be seen here. It's difficult not to see Grænspæta, Barrspæta and Fauskspæta on your visit. If you have a bit more luck you might see Stubbspæta, Svartspæta or a Balkanspæta. Various songbirds breed here, Hnotigða is very common. In May and June you might spot a Flekkugrípur or Grágrípur in the part of the park where horses used to be held.
