Bugaj Reservoir is a great place during spring and summer time. There is a breeding colony of Sílaþerna, Kolþerna and Hettumáfur. Two or three pairs of Brúnheiðir also breed there. It is also a breeding place for Hnúðsvanur, Dverggoði, Sefþvari, Kampameisa, Sefhæna and Toppgoði.
