Wooded river area with a lagoon that holds water dep. on the season. Accessible from April to snowfall. A local stream has recently been diverted thru the area.
Trettøya is a wet forest area along the river Orkla with a small seasonal lagoon. It is a breeding area for many passerines. Some waders also, like Tjaldur, Lindastelkur, Lyngstelkur and Stelkur. Also a chance on feeding Grátrana. Vatnalóa breed in the area. Other birds you can encounter are Garðsöngvari, Síkjasöngvari, Spésöngvari, Skeiðönd, Gargönd, Bleshæna, Hvinönd and Urtönd.
There is a rough gravel road crossing a metalled bridge from the County road. Several parking possibilities. Click on a P in the map to get directions to that point. Observe salmon fishing in the river from June 1st to August 31st. Can cause some traffic and disturbances. No public transport, so bicycle from nearby communities or by car is mandatory. Occasionally and partly flooded.
