Description
Søndre Bjanes is a beautiful, elevated spot with a view of the Øyeren delta to the west and south. A landscape of fields, trees and bushes makes it a good habitat for birds such as Þistilfinka, Gultittlingur and tits. Woodpeckers ( Barrspæta, Stubbspæta, Grænspæta and Svartspæta) thrive in the nearby forests. To the east lies the bay Monsrudvika where you may see Gráhegri and in the spring and fall migration: waders and ducks. Note that during mosquito season (after mid May) bugs can be an annoyance.
