Description
Lonåsen is a small village in Tunndalen, at the confluence of the rivers Tunna and Lona, about 13 kilometers northwest of the town of Tynset. The village is surrounded by forest and tundra. I stayed here for a month in the winter months of December and January. I regularly saw woodpecker species such as Barrspæta but also Barkspæta and Gráspæta. In addition, Grouse such as Rjúpa, Orri and Þiður. Finch species such as the Kjarnbítur and Dómpápi. Furthermore, many Hnotigða, Votmeisa, Grænfinka, Auðnutittlingur, Barrmeisa, Glókollur, Hrafn and Trjáspör.

Lonåsen is located 13 kilometers northwest of the town of Tynset. In the general area around Tynset and Lonåsen you have a chance of these sightings, especially in winter.
