The Wolbeslanden near Bornerbroek are former agricultural plots that have been converted into wet nature and are part of De Doorbraak. This is a 13-kilometre-long newly dug stream with beautiful natural banks. Birds you can find in the area are Urtönd, Skeiðönd, Lyngstelkur, Vatnalóa, Hrossagaukur, Mjallhegri, Grænspæta, Bláþyrill, Gulerla, Þyrnisöngvari, Þistilfinka and Seftittlingur.

Nederlands: De Wolbeslanden bij Bornerbroek zijn voormalige agrarische percelen die zijn omgevormd naar natte natuur en onderdeel van De Doorbraak, een 13 kilometer lange beek die is aangelegd om het water in Twente meer ruimte te geven, wateroverlast en verdroging te voorkomen. De nieuw gegraven beek heeft mooie natuurlijke oevers. Vogels die je in het gebied kunt aantreffen zijn Urtönd, Skeiðönd, Lyngstelkur, Vatnalóa, Hrossagaukur, Mjallhegri, Grænspæta, Bláþyrill, Gulerla, Þyrnisöngvari, Þistilfinka en Seftittlingur.
The Wolbeslanden are located between Almelo and Bornerbroek on De Doorbraak. You can park at the former farm at Wolbeslanden 5. Click on the P in the map for directions. From the parking lot you can explore the area on foot.
