Shallow lake with muddy bank surrounded by grasslands in an open clay meadow landscape.

Many ducks can often be seen on the water of the pools, including Grafönd, Skeiðönd, Skúfönd, Gargönd, Urtönd, , Rauðhöfðaönd. The muddy edges are often frequented by waders such as Stelkur, Sótstelkur, Lyngstelkur. Jaðrakan and Rúkragi use the shallows as a place to sleep. Flatnefur and Bjúgnefja come regularly. Many meadow birds nest in the grasslands, including Vepja, Jaðrakan, Þúfutittlingur and Sönglævirki and Gulerla. The bushes sometimes contain Barrfinka and recently Stubbspæta.

From Stiens via the Truerderdyk (later Wurgedyk) to the east. After about 3 kilometers there is a dead end road on the left. At the end of that is the viewing screen.
