Description
The Noordwaard is an overgrown sandbank with a lot of reeds, plants and woods. In the forest breed Gráhegri and in the marsh Mjallhegri and Sefþvari. The Middenwaard is much younger and was created after the sand has been removed. Area with running water and young plants. From the outlook tower an overview of both areas. Especially interesting in migration time.

De Noordwaard is een begroeide zandplaat met ondertussen veel riet, beplanting en bos. In het bos broeden Gráhegri en op de waard Mjallhegri en Sefþvari. De Middenwaard is veel jonger en ontstaan nadat het zand is weggehhaald. Gebied met stromend water en jonge beplanting. Vanaf de toren overzicht over beide gebieden. Vooral in trektijd interressant.

Access
The tower can be reached via the disengagement road from the business site and there is room for parking. De Noordwaard can only be visited with a guide and excusions. The Middenwaard is freely accessible via the paths and suitable for a tour.

The tower was built to provide a good overview of the entire area. The new structure of the ditches in the Middenwaard is so clearly visible. In the direction of Noordwaard there is a view of the highest forest of the Noordwaard and the surrounding reed beds and Makkumerdiep.
