Heathland enclosed by forests on the Veluwe near Putten.
Groot Ark en Kuiten is a heathland area enclosed by forests. The heath is grazed for part of the year by a herd of sheep. Among the birds you can see in the area are Sparrhaukur, Gáshaukur, Eyrugla, Barrspæta, Svartspæta, Hrafn, Trjálævirki, Hnotigða, Hagaskvetta, Þúfutittlingur, Trjátittlingur, Dómpápi, Barrfinka and in winter Grásvarri.

Nederlands: Groot Ark en Kuiten is een heidegebied omsloten door bossen op de Veluwe bij Putten. De heide wordt een deel van het jaar begraasd door een kudde Drentse heideschapen. Vogels die je in het gebied kunt zien zijn Sparrhaukur, Gáshaukur, Eyrugla, Barrspæta, Svartspæta, Hrafn, Trjálævirki, Hnotigða, Hagaskvetta, Þúfutittlingur, Trjátittlingur, Dómpápi, Barrfinka en in de winter Grásvarri.
Parking on the Arnhemse Karweg directly adjacent to the area. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking lot. The area is also easily accessible on foot and by bicycle from the villages of Krachtighuizen or Koudhoorn, or a little further from Putten.
