Description
The Beuninger Achterveld is a remnant of the former extensive heathland landscape in East Twente. Together with the adjacent Punthuizen, the Beuninger Achterveld forms a nature reserve of 135 hectares, which largely consists of heathland and lowlands with various well-developed poor land and fen vegetation. In addition, the area also has wooded parts. Birds you can see in the area are Fashani, Náttfari, Gaukur, Trjálævirki, Garðaskotta, Trjátittlingur, Hagaskvetta, Vepja, Músvákur and in winter Grásvarri.

Nederlands: Het Beuninger Achterveld is een restant van het vroegere omvangrijke heidelandschap in Oost-Twente. Een mooi klein natuurgebied op de rand van Nederland en Duitsland bij Denekamp. Samen met het aangrenzende Punthuizen vormt het Beuninger Achterveld een natuurgebied van 135 hectare groot dat voor een belangrijk deel bestaat uit heide en laagten met diverse goed ontwikkelde schraalland- en ven vegetatie. Daarnaast heeft het gebied ook bosrijke delen. Vogels die je er kunt zien zijn Fashani, Náttfari, Gaukur, Trjálævirki, Garðaskotta, Trjátittlingur, Hagaskvetta, Vepja, Músvákur en in de winter Grásvarri.
