Foresta 2000 provides a great ambience and relaxing walk immersed in the countryside away from the hustle of the nearby beach and hotels.
Located on the outskirts of Mellieħa and offering spectacular panoramic views of Mellieħa and Għadira Nature Reserve, this young forest was the dream of BirdLife Malta as a gift to future generations. Over the past years thousands of trees and shrubs were planted creating a diverse habitat which after a few years has matured into a green area which homes various passerine species, especially in the spring and autumn migrations.
The reserve is located on Triq Il-Marfa, past Għadira Nature Reserve. Parking is available on the road outside, at both entrances to the site. Accessible from bus stop ‘Riserva’ on the routes 37, 41, 42, 221, 222, X1. The site can only be explored on foot.
Foresta 2000 Nature Reserve is open all year round and is accessible 24 hours a day. Entrance is free of charge. For more info visit our website below.
