The Pūčkoriai Nature Trail which is about 6 km long leads through the beautiful Vilnia Valley. The most impressive natural feature is the 65 m high Pūčkoriai exposure, which is breathtaking both from above and below. The exposure is protected as part of the Pūčkoriai Nature Reserve. Much of the trail runs along the Vilnia River and through forest. Among the birds that can be observed are Grænsöngvari, Fauskspæta, Svartspæta, Grágrípur, Gáshaukur, Sparrhaukur, Hettusöngvari, Kjarnbítur and Gunnfálki.
Pūčkoriai Nature Reserve is located just east of the city of Vilnius. The Pūčkoriai Nature Trail starts just next to the Belmontas Dam, behind the bridge over the Vilnia River. You can also choose to park close to the Pūčkoriai exposure and walk to the viewpoint on the top. Another option is to park in the east side of the area. Click on a P in the map for directions to the parking of your choice.
