Description
Spring and autumn are best for this oasis. Passerines include Jörfadepill, Trjásvarri, Eyrnaglymur, Topplævirki, Hjálmsöngvari, Þýðsöngvari and Glámsöngvari. Wetland birds include 3 species of egret, Dílarella, Flóðrella, Engirella, Nátthegri, Rauðhegri and Relluhegri, Kolstorkur and Hvítstorkur. In the surrounding desert there may be Kornhæna, Tríll, Gæsagammur, Fölheiðir, Haukörn, Roðafinka, Desert Owl and Tristram's Starling. There is a raised walkway, hides and a cycle track.

Access
By road the site is 70 miles east of Amman, where day tours, car hire and taxi hire are available. Advice is to carry plenty of water and avoid midday heat. The cycle route is 12 km and the raised walkway 3/4 of a km.
