Isole Tremiti is the only archipelago in the Adriatic for Italy and very similar to the Croatian islands. San Domino is the biggest of the islands.
San Domino is the biggest and most wooded island of the Isole Tremiti. But it is still a small island of only 2.6 km long and 1.7 km wide. The island has pine forest, cliffs, rocks and beaches. During migration the island is a stop and passage place for Siberian and European bird species. Best times are October-November and April-May. Urðaskrofa (diomedea) and Stormskrofa arrive on the cliffs of San Domino in spring to nest.

You arrive by ferry from Termoli, it is not advisable to bring your car. The island can be explored very well on foot.
