Description

Jamshidieh Park is a rugged yet refined landscape where the stony foothills of the Alborz Mountains meet the urban edge of northern Tehran. The area is defined by its verticality, featuring steep stone staircases, tiered terraces, and natural rock formations that have been artfully integrated into the garden’s design.

The park serves as a vital green corridor for diverse birdlife throughout the year. In spring, the entire park is filled with the songs of Næturgali, Blæsöngvari and Svartþröstur. During winter, it's an ideal place to observe various species of thrushes and finches. Jamshidieh is particularly famous for Glókollur which can be seen among the pine trees. Since the park transitions directly into the mountains, species such as Berghæna, Steinigða and Grjótigða can be heard year-round.

Access

Jamshidieh Park is located in the north of Tehran in the Niavaran neighborhood. To get there by public transport, it is best to go to Tajrish Square by Metro (Line 1) or BRT bus, and from there, take a cab to the park entrance. While the easiest way is by private car, the parking lot on the east side of the park fills up quickly in the early morning as many hikers start their treks from there. The park is large, and to cover it fully, you will need between two and three hours.
