Örfirisey is a reliable spot to observe the birdlife of the Reykjavík bay. Especially in the colder times of the year. Bringing your telescope, a scan of the bay and horizon might produce birds like Hávella, Toppskarfur, Súla, Haftyrðill, Straumönd and Toppönd. You might also see Lómur and Himbrimi. Örfirsey has also hosted a male Kolönd every winter since 2014, proving it as a reliable spot for this vagrant. Overhead, Snjótittlingur might pass, and along the rocks there might be Teista.
