Description
Cemeteries often attract birds, and Fossvogskirkjugarður is no different. Enjoy relaxing birding in a quiet part of town with a variety of habitats. The cemetery features damp and mossy, almost overgrown habitats in the northeast, dry shrubbish areas in the southeast, dark and coniferous vegetation in the southwest and lawns and tree rows in between. Skógarþröstur, Svartþröstur, Auðnutittlingur are abundant, Fjallafinka, Glóbrystingur and Gráþröstur might show up if the conditions are right. In hedges are Glókollur and Músarrindill. Historically, many vagrants have shown themselves in the cemetery, and the potential is certainly there for finding more.
