Description
On the western side of Meladia valley, a small chapel (Αγία Αικατερίνη) is located. This chapel is surrounded by several large conifers, and can be a great hotspot for migrants during spring migration. Park your car next to the road and scan the conifers carefully before entering the area closer. The conifers can be packed with flycatchers, redstarts, warblers and so much more.
The surrounding fields are a great spot for flocks of pipits, wagtails and larks, like Sandlævirki, Sandtittlingur and Gulerla. The scattered bushes are great for Hettutittlingur.
The hills on the northside of the area are good for species, like Hrjósturtittlingur and Jörfadepill. Don't forget to scan the several farms in the area for Kattugla.
