Description
Lake Volvi is the second largest lake in Greece and is 19 km long. Nice place for birding on the lakeshore of Lake Volvi is the Modi River Mouth. I spent 5 days there. As a rule, I was completely alone. The rare visitors usually only came for a few minutes. Photographing pelicans requires a bit of luck, as they often change their location on the large lake. A swarm of Býsvelgur was passing through. Relluhegri are very present there and can be easily photographed from a short distance. Among the other birds that can be observed are Hvítstorkur, Toppgoði, Nátthegri, Bjarthegri, Jarpönd, Dvergskarfur and Brúnheiðir.
