Description
Especially in winter the bay of Wohlenberger Wiek is worth visiting with a high possibility to spot Duggönd. The birds come into the bay when it is windy to seek protection from the wind. Then you can see up to 1000 Duggönd and, with luck and patience, Flórgoði and Stargoði. Sometimes you can also see divers, such as Glitbrúsi. On the way there, you should also keep an eye on the fields, as there is a chance to spot Grákráka, Álft and maybe even Dvergsvanur. For photographers this is not a very good place, because the birds are mostly up to 700m out at the sea.
In summer birds like Sandlóa, Fjöruspói and Trjáspör can be observed. Hávella, Hrafnsönd, Æðarfugl, Toppönd and Korpönd can be spotted too. Personally, I only visited the area in winter. Please leave a comment below if you want to add info about other seasons in Wohlenberger Wiek.
